Concert

Last night I went to the Eric Dodge and Travis Tritt concert. I had an amazing time. I hadn't planned on going until last week I thought, "Hey that might be fun." So I was able to hook up with my friend Tami who got us the tickets and we had a girls night. The evening started out with us going to dinner and then heading over. The first show was Eric Dodge. I had mentioned him before and I am going to do it again now. He did absolutely AMAZING. He is truly talented and so is his band. Watching him and listening to him mature as an artist is fascinating. He has a great presence on stage. It seems as tho he is on the same level as the audience, jamming with us not just for us. He has a new album coming out this April, I cannot wait. He played some music off of it and all I can say is WOW! Good job Eric, you are well on your way to making it BIG!
After Eric Dodge was Travis Tritt. I had seen him before. This show was much better. Last time he fell off the stage. Really. One had to wonder why?! He played a lot of his older hits along with some of his newer ones. I have always loved his music. When I was in college I had his greatest hits CD and my roommates and I used to play that thing until it wore out. I loved hearing his rockin' tunes and his acoustic session where it was just him and his guitar. He put on a great show.

After it was all over, I can say we had a great evening. I love my kids and all but sometimes it is fun to remember that I am more than just a Mom sometimes and I do like to have a good time with the girls.

Fanaticism

I have a friend who has very recently joined my clan in the larger picture of Broncos family. Why is this something I want to write about? Cause it is a complete shock is why. The Sunday after my birthday, I rolled out of bed and my phone was beeping that I had some messages. They were notifications for my facebook. OK, I am still groggy but I head over to the computer and log on. There is a message from my dear, old friend, Tony in Alaska, talking about how he has decided he needs to rethink his football team. A quick history: Originally he was a Vikings fan, but due to the fact that Favre will always be a Packer and the way the team was being run, he got disgusted and left without looking back. Make no mistake, he tried to stay loyal but couldn't do it. My heavens, the Vikings made the playoffs, and he still couldn't get behind them, so that told me how serious he was about saying goodbye to the Vikings. He then decided to go for the 49ers since he lived there a while. Frankly I don't care one way or another for them, sometimes I am for them, sometimes against them. Again, he tried, but just wasn't feeling it. I watched him try and love the team, but it wasn't happening. Even thousands of miles away I could tell. He and I would go back and forth bantering about our teams. Me always praising my Broncos, him, laughing at me and giving me hell. So imagine my surprise when I logged on that Sunday morning to find out that he was now on my side! He was pledging his loyalty to the DENVER BRONCOS!!! I read through all had written to me. I thought, "How much beer did I drink last night?!? I need some coffee, that cannot be right." I got up, made me some coffee, woke up and sat down thinking, that I was imagining things. There it was again. He was a Broncos Fan! Tom heard me say, "What the hell? This must be a joke!" He asked me what I was talking about and I told him. He just said, "Its a good thing, more Broncos fans the better!" I agree. But do you know how much crapola I got from this guy? In a matter of two weeks, he has gone from announcing his loyalty to full fledged, obsessed, fanatic! He never showed this much enthusiasm for the niners or the Vikings, whom he cheered on, for 41 years! So I believe him when he says this is the real thing. I have been able to share with him what I know, but he is quickly surpassing me to the point that I am going to soon be asking HIM for knowledge. I love having a another friend as a fellow fanatic. It is nice having people to discuss the team with. I have introduced him to a couple of my friends who are just as nuts as I am, Susan and my Mom. They have embraced him and are excited to have him on our side. Tony and I were discussing this recently and he said that he never really understood what I meant by "bleeding Blue and Orange" He just thought I was crazy! He now gets it. He understands the pride and commitment I have for the Broncos. He has taken this on full speed ahead. I am still in shock. Just a matter of a few weeks ago, he was giving me a hard time. All football season I heard it from him. (Broncos fans are used to it.) I can hardly wait for next season. I am always happy for fall football season, but even more this time cause we have a new fellow, insanely crazy, devoted fanatic. So welcome, Tony, you can look forward to your initiation soon. ;o) I am very excited to have him along for this wild and crazy ride. If you would like to check out Tony's blog, where he himself is discussing his own transformation, please click on the "Broncos Family" or the "Anchorage Daily" link on the right sidebar of my blog.

While I know other teams have their crazy fans, I must say Broncos take the cake. The love the fans have are enormous.
When we win, you can't shut us up for a week. When we lose, as sad as we are, we are still madly in love with our boys.
"Here's to you, Mile High Denver Bronco Fans and your two favorite teams. The Broncos and whoever is stomping Oakland!"

Idaho Trip

I had an amazing time this weekend. My Mom and I traveled up to Idaho for my cousin, Brei's wedding. I will try to do a quick walk thru for inquiring minds. We headed up on Thursday and hung out with family. I had never met the fiance Ben, but right off the bat I knew I loved him. So sweet and lots of fun. And he loves the Broncos so he will fit into this family quite easily. We just got to know him and caught up with the rest of the family. The next day, Friday was busy making strategic plans for everyone. Get the last minute details and try to have fun with it. In the morning, Mom and I were able to sneak over to my old friend Jennifer's house to see her and her baby Aiden. Jennifer is like a sister to me. I love her a lot! My mom has even laid claim to the Grandma title and wears it proudly! We stayed for a little while and then went around gathering last minute details for the wedding, snuck to a scrapbook store and then we went to the rehearsal dinner for an amazing Italian feast. It was so neat to have a great dinner and talk with family. After all was said and done, the waiter came and serenaded the happy couple. SOOO sweet! Afterwards we went to my Uncles house and hung out getting our assignments for the next day and I played with their newfoundland Ryka. HUGE dog, but super sweet. The next day was THE big day. I hadn't been able to see Jennifers hubby, Brandon, the day before and they had wanted to get together again before we left. (And OK so did I.) My Mom had things to do so Jen and Brandon came by the hotel and picked me up. We went to a rise and dine sort of place and I got to chit chat and trade smart ass tirades with Brandon. After that they took me to my Uncles house and then we went to the hotel to get ready. OK, it may seem like too much info but really, this kind of crap only happens to me. I needed to shave my legs for the dress I was wearing that evening. I get into the bathroom, lather up and start shaving. Damn if the power didn't go out. I am alone in a hotel room bathroom...no windows, door shut...all foamed up, UGH! I manage to get the door open, open a window to let SOME light in and finish my work without nicking myself. My Mom and I were in charge of picking up the wedding cake and some flowers and getting them over to the venue. All I can say is thank the Good Lord above for GPS. We managed to find the place in an old building in down town Boise. It was gorgeous. My cousins daughter Ericka became my best buddy. She and I hung out after she hit her head and I was there to comfort her. She wouldn't let me leave her lol. To make her happy we snapped pics of ourselves. She was such a princess and so sweet. We went through the wedding and it was beautiful. It is awesome to see two people come together like that when they are so much in love. I wish them all the best. The next day was time to come home and so Mom and I made the long trip home. I am now exhausted but glad to be home to my babies. Tom is glad to see me. He called me to see when I would be back. "I need a break" Yeah well, honey, WELCOME TO MY WORLD!

Christmas in the Country.

Wow today it seemed like a lot going on. I got up to my bazaar just in time for the big rush of people that came in from the parade down town and Santa showing up. I had to laugh because I had people from yesterday come back and get more. I was glad I had made more of my sold-outs! Guess, what? They sold out again...hehe. One lady came back three times over the course of the day wondering what I had used to make a certain card cause she was trying to copy them. That is cool. Then she said, "I probably shouldn't have said that!" I told her that I was flattered that she liked my cards enough to want to copy them. I sold a bunch of items and looked up to see Tami and Tia, with their Mom and Tia's kids. For those that don't know, Tami and Tia are some of my best friends and I love them like sisters so it was awesome to have them come up. They came cause they wanted to go to a real craft show, not full of commercial items. There were a few booths that sold those things but about 90% of the booths there are home crafters like myself. We all hung out for awhile and they had to leave. Shortly after, Tom showed up with Chloe. Chloe wanted to come up with me and help me so I told Tom that he could bring her up after lunchtime. He fell in love with a knife that the lady at the booth next to me had. It had a real rattlesnake head on it, made by an old Navajo man. Some of you may have gotten a pic text from me showing it. Even I thought it was really cool. But not cool enough to spend 65 dollars on. If you want me to send you a pic on your cell give me your number and I will.

Chloe was so cute at the booth. I don't know why but it seems like I attracted all of the husbands to hang out at mine. They all told the same story, "My wife made me come here, and if I stay here long enough, maybe I won't have to shell out all my money." I would laugh and say, "Sucking the manhood right after you huh?" And they would say, "YES!". Chloe got fed up with this and finally said to one guy, "Are you going to buy my mommies beautiful cards or not?" He couldn't resist my daughters charm and proceeded to purchase some items.

Eric Dodge was there. He is a local country singer with a few Cd's out. He was trying to sell his Christmas music when I told his buddy that I would rather have a regular music CD. While I enjoy some Christmas music, too much and I will start shooting at people from my roof. Eric then came over to my booth and handed me two Cd's. His latest album and his Christmas one. Two very good Cd's for ten bucks! SWEET! Here is a shameless plug. If you haven't heard him, you should. He truly is talented. You can check out his music at www.ericdodge.com . I love to support local music, and he is one I definitely have no problem supporting. And who knows, maybe he will become hugely famous one day and I can say, "I knew him when..."

Manning the booth, talking to forlorn husbands and helping people get their creative juices going was a lot of fun for me. I really enjoyed it. Near the end of the day came the fun part. A lot of us start trading with each other. At the end of my trading I managed to acquire a Minnesota Vikings Kleenex box, a 20 oz vanilla candle, 7 wax blocks for my Scentsy warmer, 4 Tupperware kid cups w/lids, 2 pillows, a bracelet for Chloe, a hair bow for Chloe and some bread. Oh and an invitation to the bar...took a rain check on that one. How cool is that? I mentally added up what I had traded to get these things and it came to about ten dollars in supplies to make what I did. So I feel very accomplished hehe.

There was one moment of uncomfortable. Last year about this time a dog ran into the front fender of my minivan. I had always suspected that I new whose dog it was, but Tom insisted that it wasn't theirs. Well I am friends with the lady of that house and she came by and said hi. I don't know why, it was like I was possessed and I couldn't stop myself from saying, "I think I killed your dog last year!" I told her what had happened and she confirmed that yes it was their dog. I apologized all over the place and told her that we did go back to make sure that it was dead and not suffering. She was so understanding and said, "These things happen, and to tell you the truth I am glad to know that at least you didn't just leave him there suffering, that you made sure he was dead, it wasn't your fault he shouldn't have been out!" And now, I feel so relieved.

All in all, it was a fun day. Although it was snowing hard on the way home. I was OK but the 6 million cars from California and Nevada sure weren't. They hog the road, drive like turtles and seem to slam on their brakes. I understand being cautious and all but that is so stinkin' annoying! They are going to cause more accidents that way.

So there, I completed my once a day for a week blog. I will continue to post but I can't promise daily anymore. Hopefully frequently tho.
